Quick bits about where it all began
"Since the time I was a child and first learned what stories were, I loved them. But reading wasn't always easy for me in the past. Up until 6th grade I would listen to people telling stories and watch TV because I was too slow a reader for books and couldn't keep up with my peers. That changed one day when my 6th grade teacher learned of the trouble I was having. She told me: "Don't worry about keeping up with everybody else. No one is the same, and no one can always work at the same pace. You just read at your own pace and at a level of reading that suits you." She gave me a child’s version of the Time Machine book to start with, even though it had nothing to do with what we were reading in class, because she knew I loved fantasy and adventure stories.
She explained I should begin with topics that interested me—not the boring stuff classes assign you—and that I could take as long as needed until I finished the entire book. So, I took her advice and began my strange, new quest of learning how to read a book from beginning to end! It was doing this that opened the door to "the world of books" in my life, and with it countless possibilities! There were more and better stories than TV had to offer, and I loved it. Ever since that day, long ago, I have been reading thick and heavy novels. And now, I am publishing books of my own for other readers—both new and old, alike—to enjoy and come to appreciate the art of story-telling that is the book."
